List of the Best Free Radio Apps for BlackBerry

I have tried Slacker Radio and unfortunately never got a successful connection hence I wrote this for all BlackBerry owners out there. There’s a free app called Nobex Radio which I currently use as my personal radio app for my BlackBerry Torch and so far it’s working great. All of its features are normally expected in any radio app for any smartphone. It requires either a wireless Internet connection ( Wi-Fi ) or a data plan for your smartphone.

Personally, I dislike using radio apps because most/all of them requires an Internet connection and I prefer to know what music I am about to listen to before I actually listen to it. I know most of you might not be like me so I’m going to list a few useful radio apps on this web page if Slacker Radio does not work on your blackberry.

There are five categories to choose from in the app; local, music, sports, talk and by location. There are sub-categories in the music, talk and by location categories. Once the app boots up and a radio station was selected, it does not take long to initialize and buffer ( although it depends on your Internet connection of course ) . You can navigate yourself to the main menu of the app to see which stations are currently playing. Of course, you can pause the station anytime you wish, add to favourites or share the station on Twitter and FaceBook.

If you dislike the Nobex Radio app, don’t go and throw your BlackBerry off a roof. There are lots more free radio apps for blackberry smartphones. I’ve listed a few good ones below although I have not tested all but the ones on the top of the list should be decent radio apps.
